I'm going to remove the muffler so, I'd like to replace the bolts.

Item 16 is 3 nuts per side that the muffler (mounting bracket on the muffler) to the mounting bracket on the car.

Item 19 is 2 bolts per side that hold the mounting bracket to the chassis.

When I remove the mufflers I just remove the 3 (per side) nuts 16. I have never seen any damage on these.

I have a sports exhaust fitted (without any vacuum link) and the previous owner just wired up the flaps, leaving it load all the time. Can I un tie them and just let them loose? ie free flow with the exhaust?

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

The beauty of the Porsche sports exhaust system is that if you leave the vacuum connections disconnected, it is in the loud position at all times, giving you max flow.  I would simply remove the wire the previous owner installed which decreases both sound and performance and enjoy the ride.............and the sound.
