Hello everyone, new member here. My father has an '04 C2 and asked me to find out if there's any way to remove the amber side markers (not sure if they're turn signals or just amber reflector strips) and replace them with either clear or body-colored plastic bits.

By markers I mean the small rectanglular bits right in front of the front wheels and above the front bumper line.

I think it would clean up the look of the car, as the amber doesn't particularly "jive" with the color he's got (Atlas Grey Metallic).

I searched around on this forum, in the DIY forum, and on the flat-6.net forums, but I couldn't find anything about the side markers. The only stuff I could find was removing the amber filters on the earlier 996 (Boxster-style) headlights, which he doesn't have.

Anyways, I appreciate any light you could shed on the topic.

I converted to the clear with green leds (wimbledon green C4) that illuminate with the DRLs/parking/street lights and then switch to amber led with turn signals.

thanks a bunch, guys. now it's just up to me to convince my dad to make the switch... he's got a thing against doing DIY non-OEM work on his baby, heh.

Follow directions in your owner's manual where it tells you how to chage the bulb. The lite pops out and snaps back in. Very simple.

When you switch to the clear marker bulb covers, do you also need to switch from a clear to an amber bulb?

You should get an amber bulb with the clear replacements. I use the amber bulbs behind the clears in my Pepper but in the 911 I use the original clear bulbs behind the clear side lenses.
