Loren, hopefully you can help me. I bought a PCM2 from a wrecked 996, and had Euroclassics Porsche install the unit (thanks to CoreyNJ's instructions, which I gave to the dealership). I SHOULD have gotten the code from them at the time. When I picked up the vehicle, it worked perfectly, and still does.

Now, I'm have to replace my battery. Is there any way of getting the code BEFORE I unhook the batter? I'd hate to remove the PCM2, to get the serial number. The VIN will be useless to identify the code, as my VIN doesn't get recognized by Porsche as having a PCM2.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Richard

Sorry, maybe one of the PCM2 owners can remember because I can't how to do it. I think you let it startup normally then choose PCM from the menu and then serial number is under one of the items on the list.
