PIWIS 2 Resetting my Porsche 996 C4

Hi everyone,

I’ve just spent the last four years meticulously rebuilding my 1999 Porsche 996 C4 with a 3.4 engine, and while I’m thrilled with the progress, I’ve encountered a few issues that need addressing. After going through the manual, it seems that I need to perform a couple of essential tasks that can only be executed using the Porsche System Tester 2, commonly known as PIWIS. Specifically, I need to zero the steering angle sensor and activate the booster pump to bleed the ABS system.


I’m considering purchasing a PIWIS system, but I wanted to check if anyone here has experience with this equipment and if it’s worth the investment. Alternatively, does anyone know of a workaround to accomplish these resets without needing the PIWIS?
