Squeaking from drivers A pillar

2004 Boxster SE - I have a high-pitched squeak that sounds like it's coming from the base of the drivers side A pillar. I'm not ruling out suspension, but it doesn't seem to be coming from that far away - it's not the door (it squeaks when the door is open) - top shock mount? Side mirror? Maybe even the gauge cluster? It's only noticeable at low speeds (mostly cause it gets drowned out at higher speeds), and it seems more pronounced with top and windows down (though I can still hear it with the top and windows up). Took it to a shop, and $250 and two new hood shocks later, it's not fixed.

 

Anyone BTDT?
