CLU and electrical gremlins

Recommended Posts

I have a Bluetooth transmitter connected to the back of my factory radio. Pulled the unit to reboot (unplug and plug) the transmitter. When I pushed the radio back in, I noticed the airbag light came on. I tried restarting the car and it wouldn't start (as if the clutch sensor was bad, but didn't have any issues 2min before). Locked the car with the key, came back and tried again but the alarm went off even with key in ignition and on. No access to the frunk to disconnect the battery so my neighbors love me right now. I've had same CLU issues as other forums - double beep when turning car off, passenger door not locking properly, gas cap door not unlocking, remote not working. Alarm stopped on it's own after 20min but I'm afraid to open the door. Could use some advice on how to fix this.

You have an alarm fault as witnessed by the double beep.  With a Porsche specific scan tool (PIWIS or Durametric) you can read the last 10 recorded alarm faults, which would point you to exactly where to look. 😉

Ran the scans and it's the immobilizer, so we have that figured out. Found a resource on here that can rebuild it and just need to send them the immobilizer and ECU. Bad news is that my independent shop forgot the ECU part of the job and now can't get into the trunk with the immobilizer removed. Not looking to start taking things apart to get to the manual release, but we can put power to the correct pin for the trunk release. Does anyone know the correct pin for the trunk release for a M535 996.618.262.03 immobilizer unit? I think it's #34 but not sure.  986 Immobilizer PIN Map.pdf
