The biggest difference between PIWIS 4 and PIWIS 3

Recommended Posts

PIWIS 4 supports the following features that  PIWIS 3 cannot support:
PIWIS 4 supports the latest car models from 2024 onwards.

PIWIS I supports cars up to  2014 model year, PIWIS II supports cars up to  2017 model year, PIWIS III PIWIS IV supports vehicles up to 2020 model year, PIWIS IV supports all vehicles including  new cars from 2023 onwards, also supports new models of electric cars. PIWIS IV also provides technical support for  SFD diagnostic protection which PIWIS I, PIWIS II and PIWIS III cannot provide.

PIWIS IV support for  new cars from 2024 is very important for the ever evolving automotive industry. Every year, new vehicle models are introduced to the market, equipped with advanced technology and unique configurations that can make it difficult for technicians to accurately diagnose and service these new vehicles without the latest diagnostic tools such as PIWIS IV. With support for 2024 vehicle models, PIWIS IV ensures it keeps up with the latest automotive developments, providing users with access to  diagnostic and maintenance capabilities specifically tailored to the needs of newly released vehicles.
PIWIS 4 supports SFD diagnostic protection technology:

Furthermore, the integration of SFD (System Fault Diagnosis) technology support enhances the diagnostic capabilities of PIWIS 4. Vehicle system faults  can be complex and difficult to identify without specialized tools and techniques. The inclusion of SFD diagnostic protection technology support provides users with advanced tools and methods to effectively identify and resolve system errors. This feature improves the reliability and effectiveness of PIWIS IV in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle problems, ultimately streamlining the repair process and minimizing vehicle downtime.
PIWIS 4 adds support for electric vehicles (EV):

The additional support for new electric vehicle (EV) models reflects the growing importance of electric vehicles in the automotive market. With more electric vehicles being introduced in 2024, it is important that diagnostic tools such as PIWIS IV also evolve accordingly. Electric vehicles are equipped with different components, systems and diagnostic protocols than cars with traditional internal combustion engines. By supporting new EV models, PIWIS IV enables technicians to perform diagnostic, maintenance and programming tasks specific to electric vehicles,  effectively addressing the specific requirements and challenges of EV technology.
Further differences between PIWIS 4 and PIWIS 3:
General developments in PIWIS 4:

PIWIS 4 has significantly evolved from its predecessor, offering improved functionality, compatibility and security features.

The introduction of support for electric vehicles reflects Porsche's commitment to  alternative drive technologies.

In summary,  PIWIS 3 serves as a reliable diagnostic tool for Porsche vehicles, while PIWIS 4 takes diagnostics to the next level with advanced features. These include support for electric vehicles and the integration of SFD diagnostic protection technology to ensure both efficiency and safety in vehicle maintenance and service.
