Tiptronic Conductor Plate Replacement

I Have an '02 996 Cab Tiptronic. I was getting a consistent Tiptronic Emergency Run. I took it to a local indy shop who pretty much didn't want the job. My car was the least cool Porsche there, but it is my Porsche which is freaking cool as sh*t to me. I brought it home and started reading. The car had been sitting for five years, so I decided to replace all the fluids. This led to the decision to replace the conductor plate. All easily done with parts from FCP until... I had to get the new plug back into the new conductor plate when reassembling. It took weeks because we just couldn't get enough leverage on the **** thing to push it in, in the tight space. We finally got it in and filled the transmission until fluid began to come out the bore of the ATF control screw. I still haven't bought a durametric kit, so my question is: Since the instructions say that the process has to begin with "The transmission must not be in the reduced driving program", do I have to reset all the errors before I begin. The car starts with the "Tiptronic Emergency Run" error from the beginning. Is there any way to clear everything without the diagnostic tool, like PIWIS or Durametric? The instructions, in the maintenance manual say to run through all the gears and bring to temperature "ATF temperature must be between 30 °C and 40 °C".
