As the subject title says.  Curious why there might not be a code set.

Yes.  Durametric.  It turned out to be a disintegrating connector that the wheel speed sensor and brake wear sensor plug into.  I taped it up with waterproof tape and zip ties, but a more permanent fix is needed.  For my life, I have not been able to find a wiring repair harness for a non-PSM car.  PSM cars have them, but they do not have the same plug/pin configuration.  I have queried Pelican, FCP, and Sunset Porsche so far.

All US/Canada 996's since 2002 have PSM.

Your car is a 2003 USA/Canada car according to the factory build. Did someone remove PSM?

Is this the front harness or rear harness?

Car was bought new in Hawaii and has never left the state.  It does not have a PSM on/off switch on the dash, and the wheel speed sensors pins are 1 male, and 1 female.  The harness it plugs into is indeed original to the car.  The Monrony sticker does not show PSM as an added option. The owners manual talks as if PSM is/was an option.

Left front.
