Hi all,

I purchased and installed the new PCCM+ for the 996TT (P/N 996 642 59000).
After some issues with the sound, Porsche realised that they also needed to install a control unit (P/N 996 642 58000 - cost is about $140). Initially I did not second guessed it but then I saw the photo below which states that it is in the original package (it the second box from top left side).

Can any of you confirm that this control unit is installed? Especially for my European readers.

I haven't installed mine yet and still in sealed box. I think the USA version comes with it.

Checking eBay:

I plan to tackle it soon now that I have my speakers and amp figured out.

If your car is MY2003 and later then it is a MOST bus car, i.e., the audio units, radio, CD, amps, communicate with each other using fiber optics. That box is a MOST bus interface for the PCCM+ to be able to communicate with the amps. All MY2003+ cars need that box.

I just ordered the double din frame from Suncoast Porsche. I think I was missing that. My AC is already down below and I installed the "cubby" spot above it.
