Good evening

 

Was checking the car and noticed a small drop of coolant under the engine passenger side.

I am not sure what is in this section, but really hope could be something I could fix. I am attaching picture.

If you look at your picture carefully, you will notice that the "crust" deposits look like they start higher up and run down to the bottom, which is normally the way leaks work, so your leak may be further up and running down to that point, where it dries out and crusts.  I would clean off the area and regularly check to see if you can spot the leak source.  I would also consider adding a bit of Uview's coolant dye, which allows you to use a "black light" source to pinpoint the exact source of the leak, as even if it dries out, it leaves a trail back to the source:

Good afternoon,  I checked the area and up from it, although the oil cooler is up from there, I did not see anything with green Mark or wet fue that matter. Do you know what piece is in the picture? Looking closer it almost looks like there are 2 pieces that it's leaking from there.

This is a cooling water channel, the cover is secured with four bolts. The metal seal between housing and cover is leaking and needs to be replaced, this occurs regularly. The work is easy to do, drain cooling water, clean the edges of the housing and cover, replace the metal seal, refill cooling water. Please note, to avoid filling and venting problems cooling water must be refilled with a vacuum device, this is very important to avoid an overheated and therefore defected engine.

Good afternoon, RFM

 

That sound good, I will into that and get the metal seal.

I do have that vacuum system, and now wonder if this would cause a vacuum leak, as the last time I replaced the water reservoir it was very difficult ( more like impossible) to keep a vacuum.

 

@JFP in PA I will get under car and add some pictures. When I do the job, I may as well add pictures from that.

Your coolant system should always be able to hold 24-26 inches of vacuum for 15 min. after the evacuation system is shut down; the leak you saw the last time could have been this part.
