Use a charger that works through the lighter and that will likely have enough power to open the front trunk. Later model cars have a similar jumper point on the fuse panel (in the drivers footwell). If all else fails you can use the emergency manual release behind the passenger side headlight. Do a search here if you have trouble finding the emergency release cable.

Dear Loren,

I can open the engine lid by using emergency release cable (under the rear light). and switch-on the car successfully by using new battery.

But I'm still cannot open the front lid by pull the button. The button still locked !! Cannot pull ~~~ On the other hand, I found that the fuel lid cannot open ~~~ ???

Is there any emergency release cable for front lid? Any idea ??

Thank you very much !!

Regards,

Jackie

Yes, the emergency pull cord for the front hood is behind the right front wheel well. Most shops and dealers know how to get to it.

The fuel lid will not open for the same reason - it is electric. The fuel door is locked (and alarmed) when your car is locked.

the front lid cannot open when i just switch on the car. my friend and me have no idea.... So.... we driving the car to Porsche services centre.....

when the car arrived at services centre, the technician pull the front lid button. and then ~~~ bommm ~~~ the front lid opened !! He saild " No problem"

Oh ~~ No ...... why the front lid will open only after driving in Porsche service centre ~~~~~

I think the car need to warm up before the front lid open...... the battery should be charge more power to open the front lid .... (my home to service center around 5km)

Now.... the car at service centre in checking...... it's cost me around US$100

That is my bad experience......

Anyway, thank Loren great help ~~~~ :)

Really thank you very much !!

Jackie

I want to update some information for my above scenario.

The Porsche center technician said why I can't open the front lid even I switch on the engine by using the external battery.

Because the remote lock system are not functional when I open the car door by key manually. And even I switch on the engine by external battery. The remote lock system still locked. (included the front lid button.)

The solution is press the remote button on the key once to lock the car, and then press the button once again to open the car door. The remote lock system will be reset and function again. Of course, the front lid button beside the driver is work again !!

Thank you !!

Jackie
