Good evening,

Would like to have your feedback.

While running the car yesterday, I Turned the heater "ON" and I heard a loud mechanical sound from the back of the car not sure if this is normal on not. The sound was like when a plane is lowering or moving the flaps on its wings. Not a click sound but a long 5 sec. whining sound.

Is this normal? Not sure if really related to heater, but that is when it started.

Thank you,

Daniel

Could be your Secondary Air Injection pump whining, particularly just after first start of the car. Mine runs several times after a cold start.  The SAI in normal running mode sounds like a muffled vacuum cleaner in the engine bay.

Agree - could be SAI pump.  Mine got quite noisy and I found some info online about how to take it apart and relube at least the outer bearing.  Helped a lot.
