I have a 2004 Cayenne that wont crank over ,no dash function ? new battery's ,if I by pass the starter relay under the hood the starter wants to engage also no lights head or tail with the switch on ,no radio and no dash .Interior lights, power windows , fan all come on cleaned all grounds checked all fuses ? the key fob looks in bad shape but the key go,s into the ignition and turns but no starter or dash respond ? what have I missed ? new here so thanks in advance!

Yes new to me ,dragged it home .placed new batteries in it can hear (not very well) the relay click and no message from dash no gauges when one turns the key ? checked all fuses .had the starter engaging the ring gear (motor belt was jerking a bit but would not turn over) by jump wire @ the relay under the hood .should have left this one alone☹️

That's what I thought.  More than likely, the central locking/immobilizer is not recognizing the key and thinks you are trying to steal the car.  If that is the case, you are going to need access to the Porsche factory scan tool and help from a dealer to get it running.  And before you ask, no, the immobilizer system cannot be bypassed as the car's main computer expects it to tell the DME that it is OK to start the car.
