Hi Loren...

Do you have the part number please for the felt weather strip that sits around the edge of the roof where the sunroof buts up against? Its the black strip that you can see around the sunroof edge when you look down on the sunroof.

Also, do you have a schematic of how it attaches.

Thx...

Jim

Looks like the trim piece is either:

996 545 521 04 sealing frame - retail $53.37

or

996 545 545 01 trim frame (to MY01) - retail $62.23

There is not a specific instruction for that piece. From what the manual shows you will need to release and remove the sliding portion of the panel.

1. Open the sliding roof panel approx. 80 mm.

2. Disengage (press) trim of sliding/tilting roof out of the left and right-hand front catches towards the rear and out of the drivers, and push back by approx. 30 mm.

3. Close the sliding roof panel and move to tilting position.

4. Push trim of sliding/tilting roof back evenly on the left and right as far as it will go.

5. Move the sliding roof panel to zero position (closed).

6. Unscrew the Torx T25 fastening screws from the sliding roof panel and remove the panel from the sliding roof frame.

Hi Jim - I am looking to replace the felt around the sunroof too.....Which part did you order?

The felt I am looking at is the one when the sunroof is closed and I am viewing from the exterior.

My felt was destroyed by previous wax jobs.

thanks

Adam

Adam,

Look in the TSB for Sunroof noises - it is all covered there.
