I need to program the micro switch to roll down either window about 2” when engaging door handle from inside or outside. Since this is a 2001 model maybe it’s not possible to do this? Is there another micro switch I could buy that’s set to drop or raise window by 2 inches ? I know can do this very easily on a BMW product with ISTA P but I’m not too familiar with Porsche or VW group products.

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

The information you seek is in the owner's manual for the car, but in essence you push the window button down until the window is all the way down and then hold it for a moment.  Then push the up button until the window is all the way up and then hold it for just a moment.

I’m aware in how to reset the windows. I have a custom built Spyder top and I need 2 inches of roll down to clear the door. The stock clearance is about an inch. On modern cars I can program this , this is older Thus I think I can get a aftermarket micro switch.

The window drop range in these cars is built into the central locking/immobilizer system software and I am not aware of any way to reprogram it.

That’s my fear but with Porsche PIWIS I should have the ability to do so. One thing to take into account is the automatic window roll down when the center lock is disengaged to put the top down.
