Hi

Just purchased a Boxster 2004 986 2.7 and when checking with Durametric in activations the stage 1 fans and engine compartment fan won't turn on, the stage 2 fans work fine, where is a good place to start looking please?

Stage 1 and stage 2 fans are the front radiator fans. The engine compartment purge fan is in the engine compartment.

So for the front radiator fans - are you sure both are not running at stage 1 (low speed) or is perhaps just one side?

For the engine compartment fan I would check the connector first. Not unheard of but unusually for the actual engine compartment fan to fail since it is rarely on.

Thanks Loren

Yes I went up front and listened carefully for Stage 1 and fairly sure they/it are not working (will check again when I get it up in the air) and the engine compartment fan is defiantly not working so will check connector as suggested thankyou. Had a 987.1 previously and all fans worked with activation on Durametric so presume should do the same on the 986, only got it 2 days ago so lots to check!
