Center display went blank

2003 Carrera Coupe;  As the title says.  Stopped to get gas, turned off car and went to reset mileage but the center display was blank.  All other displays were fine.  Filled tank, started car and center was still blank.  Ran an errand and when restarting the center display returned.  Any ideas what I might start with?

Try removing the instrument cluster and removing and reseating all the cable connectors.

If that does not work then the issue may be inside the cluster.

If it happens again I will do what Loren suggests.  It does look as if the cluster had been removed before so I will adopt a wait and see attitude.
