I recently bought a set of Litronics headlights for my Mk 1 996 for $950 - they're in great condition.  I replaced all the bulbs and find that everything is working, with the exception of one parking light bulb - the tiny one next to the high beam.  I've eliminated that it's a bulb issue and I'm stumped as to what else it might be.

The wiring is showing age, but I put a multimeter across the circuit and everything appears normal.  If both bulbs were out I might figure it was a fuse, but it's only this one bulb in one unit.

I would appreciate any guidance that anyone can give. I can't really install the headlights until this is done and the car would fail inspection with it out, so I'd really like to get these headlights working.  The car looks great with them in and I would hate to have spent the money and not be able to install.

It is not uncommon to see a pin pushed out of the connector from people ramming the headlights into place.

Check both the socket and the plug ends. Look for a pin or a receiver pushed back or damaged. Also check for a cracked connector housing.
