Hey everyone!

About a week ago my 2004 Cayenne S (non-turbo) failed to start while at the gas pump, after getting gas. Ultimately, many hours later and after search for a used fuel pump (which I didn't end up using) I was able to remove the #14 fuse and carry on my way, no real trouble since then. I have also in the last couple of months replaced the fuel pressure valve I bought from the mothership. I have read and seen on a few different places that not only was it likely a bad fuel pump, but that the other fuel pump would likely end up going out soon + I would have to open both sides anyways to change out one of the pumps...so I decided to try and be proactive and just go a head and change them both, along with the fuel filter.

I buy this kit on Amazon that comes with both for ~$145 + another ~$50 for the filter. Last night I get it all installed, it's running for about 5 minutes. I then run inside only to come out and it had turned off! I try and restart it, and it turns over but no start. Being that the fuel light was on, I catch a lift to the gas station and end up adding another 5 gallons to the tank, this time it starts strong; however, within about 1 minutes it starts struggling then dies again. I try driving it and add load to it doesn't help, still dies (which I figured it would).

I have seen that connecting the hoses wrong can cause similar issues, so I am about to double check those. Outside of the pumps or even the filter themselves being bad I am hoping someone here may have some thoughts or even ideas to try before ruling a bad set of pumps and/or filter in the event that it isn't my messing up with the hoses!

I appreciate you guys!! 🙂

Update!

So I decided to start by check the driver's side, and boy am I glad I did (since the pressured line on the passenger side is such a mess to remove)-- it seems that when getting the filter seated last night, I somehow managed to have one of the electrical connectors going to the filter (the black and red cables) came unplugged!! 🙄🙄

She's alive!! 🙂
