97 Boxster newbie

1997 Boxster with 72,000 mi. Always serviced at dealer. Had 60k service, Do I still have to worry about the Engine failure that some older Boxsters had? The car runs great, no leaks. With this millage am I past the failure time? Can I just expect the normal engine wear? I had a 911 3.0 SC and it was bullet proof. Drove the hell out of it (150kmi) with no major problems. I hope the Boxster can match or even get close. Please let me know what to look for.....

still learning about Boxsters as I got mine used (long-time early 911 owner also), but got a MY97 with 95k on it (and adding 60miles/dy as a daily driver). As I know there were issues with leaking rear main seals and then some motors got sleeved cylinders (porsche did not tell cust. at the time).

I guess I am always surprised when Porsche owners are worried about "high-mileage" when its not even at a 100k miles. If you own a Chrylser or a GM product, well thats a different story. A well maintained German auto (pick your brand) should go a couple of hundred kilomiles unless you take it to the track or drive like madman.
