I ended up removing the plug to alternator and one near it to get to the crankshaft position sensor plug that is on the dipstick. All that work is done and I am left with two plugs that look the same. One goes to the alterntator and one goes to a plug right next to it but they are basically the same plug and I assumed they would be differnt so didnt mark them or take pictures. Does anyone know which one goes where.

One plug is wired with a single blue wire and the wire path is from the bottom of engine bay. . Other plug has two wires going to plug and the wire loom comes from center of block direction. Which one goes to alternator? If anyone has a Cayenne 6 cyl in garage you should be able to see this without removing anything. I would be very greatful. Really just need to see which diection the wire loom that plugs in to alternator comes from and confirm if there is a blue wire or the pair of wires (red and orange I think) peaking out from wire loom.  Thanks so much

thank you both so much, the crankshaft position sensor went on me earlier during covid.  when I pulled out the dipstick tube to get to the plug, the o-ring for the dipstick tube decided to stay in the block.  It was a super pita to get that out we've been without the car for a while.  getting these plugs sorted without putting them backwards is the last step to get  the car back on the road
