I have a 2004 C2 Coupe, Tiptronic.

I have new batteries in the key fobs and also replaced the 2 microswitches in both keys.  I've done the antenna range mod (pop off the A-pillar trim, get the antenna out of the wire loom, trim to ensure it's 130mm).

The key fobs still work very badly and usually not at all.  Sometimes if I point them at juuuuust the right spot, they work.  The "hood release" function is much more reliable than the "door unlock" function.  Help!  What on earth could be going wrong?

Also - I replaced both of them about 3-4 years ago so they're not the original ones.  I'd hope that they would last longer than 3-4 years.  The fact that the trunk button works better sometimes than the unlock button is odd.  Could there be an issue with something in the car, rather than with the key fobs?
