Good afternoon folks,

As an independent consumer, I was wondering if there existed a way for one to reset their Check Engine Light, without bringing the car to a service center, thus no access to any computer equipment.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Vince

you can reset the CEL only if the fault is not present (soft fault) by pulling the DME fuse or disconnecting the battery. if the fault is present (hard fault) it can only be turned off by a scanner.

do you need radio codes if you disconnect the battery?

Yes, unless your car has the MOST CDR-23.

With the radio on, hold the "TP" button for 5 seconds until the active screen "Becker" appears. Then turn the right hand knob one click at a time until the radio window displays the serial number of the radio.

PM me the serial number - I have a little program that works 95% of the time.

Ditto that...if Loren can't get it I can.
