Hello everybody. since just few weeks I'm proud to have Boxster 986  This is the first one from 1997. I have the problem with my windows : they don't drop down when I unlock top to open it. I've checked already switch (switches) located in open latch - I even change them being sure to resolve my problem, but ....no! Windows drop down normally when opening doors (inside and outside) I have no idea what check now - relais ?

Thanks for your help

Congrats on the acquisition - I hope.  I'm 5 days into 986 ownership and attempting to resolve the same issue - windows are in the up position:

1. Windows dutifully perform clearance drop when opening/closing door.

2. Windows do not perform clearance drop when operating top latch, or opening/closing the top.

3. Center console switches will not engage windows.

All this in concert with no interior lights or door lights. I've checked all fuses including C3 and D1. I did push what I think to be the micro-switch button under the top latch with no reaction from the windows.  Hmmmmm.  Will let you know if I come up with something!

Look for corrosion inside the connectors on the "A" pillars, these are sensitive areas for corrosion.

Thanks for your advice but as I said have already changed both switches so you can forget corrosion. I will repeat: windows operate fine - drops down when open the doors. The problem is that they doesn’t drop down when open the roof , so any suggestions?

RFM was not suggesting switches but the connectors in the door frame.

If I remember correctly there are also switches located in the door latch. I had the same issue. You might want to check that as well. V
