2000 996 Carrera 2 coupe 6 speed: tool for door lock removal

Note:  I call ‘back of the door’ the part of the door that is facing backwards, not the back portion of the door panel

On the back of the door there are 2 black ‘bolts’ that secure the lock to the door.  They seem to be designed for a Torx bit, but none of my Torx bits seem to fit properly.  What is the correct tool for removing those bolts and where can it be purchased?

Most likely triple square (AKA XZN) bolts.  I used Snap-on, but a lot of other tool companies make them as well.  Amazon also sells them.

They are triple square. I bought a set off of Amazon for $17 to swap out my door latch.

I can confirm that all of the above is correct...triple square XZN bit.  Do not try to use a torx bit in there because it will tear it up.

Is there a specific torque to put the bolts back?.  Is Loctite require?

20 +/- 2 Nm, or 15 +/- 1.5 ft. lbs.  Loctite is optional, but use med strength if you do.

Blue loctite...just a drop or two will do.  Don't know the torque..just tight plus a pull is what I did.
