Hello,

all of a sudden I lost reverse completely. Other than that the gearbox is functioning as earlier i.e. without problems.

It seems that something went wrong with the linkage and when I took out the center console there was a small plastic piece which had a gear with 13 teeth on it and text sidler on the other side. There are 2 clips (plastic) which were broken and the piece was lying under the console.

Now, I took out the shifter assy but for the earth of it I can't figure out where this piece is supposed to go? Of course, not the same as I have, as the clips are broken but when I'll buy a new one that is ;)

Thanks in advance!

Need to see some pictures.

Actually, I think that I figured out where this part is from :) It is not from the shifter itself but from the ashtray...it slows the ashtray down when it opens up.

Any ideas about the reverse problem? When pulling the shifter to left, towards reverse, it does not 'click' as it should be when it's pulled all the way to the left and when it's pulled up it engages the 1st gear and not the reverse...

OK,

I crawled under the car as I couldn't figure anything wrong with the shifter itself and I found that the blue cable was not attached properly. It had gone out from 'U'-shaped thing that it is connected into and it seems like there's something missing from there as it doesn't attach securely when I tried to press it back into the connector.

Does anyone have a picture from factory repair manual or the like which parts should be in there?

TIA!

Problem solved. The blue cable which controls the reverse had somehow gone into a wrong position when the connector from the tranny end had popped out. Readjusted that and now all is working just fine.

Luckily no technical problem in the tranny itself ;)
