2008 Cayman S. I recently replaced my factory radio with an aftermarket head unit (Kenwood DNX694S with NAV-TV MOST HUR Kit). I changed my oil and hooked up my Durametric to reset the Maintenance reminder. I now have several fault codes, which I believe are related to the display.

PSM - C140: Communication instrument cluster (display)

Airbag - C141: Communication PCM (display) and C140

Air Conditioning - C141 and C131: Communication gateway control unit (CAN comfort)

Gateway - C140 and C144 Communication CDR (display)

I assume that since these all seem to be related to Communication they are looking for the factory PCM radio.

I've done several searches on these codes but none seem to shed light on what might be causing the codes.

Thanks

They are all communication errors, as you have removed an element from the CAN bus.  Ideally, you should code the PCM MMI out of the system on all the modules affected.  Or live with the fault codes.

I finally got around to working this out. I upgraded my Durametric to the Pro series and now can code objects. I found that the PCM was not installed but it was still trying to display. There was a setting for the Radio being installed. Just on a hunch, since I had tried many other things, I changed the code to the Radio not being installed. This fixed the codes as well as a few other things

My radio kept changing the volume, as one would expect base on speed and noise, but mine kept changing the volume at times when you would not expect. Removing the radio solved that problem as well. Now everything seems to work as it should

Thanks all,
