Guys could someone please help...can't believe how difficult it is to get any info on my beautiful 957 cayenne!  So here's hoping right? As you can see in the photo, the right side rear light has got a few dead LEDs in the two top strips... Has anyone tried a repair or got any advice on this? Someone has gotta know about this! In the words of Sam Smith, I know am not the only one

Thanks for the reply but has anyone here had a similar problem and repaired it? And it seems light units for the 957 are pretty hard to come acrosa

Hi Loren they are stock... Totally stock in the 957...

Interesting, as the parts diagram for that car in the NA market shows it having halogen bulbs.

The halogen bulbs on the diagram you refer to isn't the top two rows...if you look again, at the diagram for the 957 not 955 Cayenne, you'll clearly see the leds are housed in two rows along the top...

Mine is a 2008 3.6 Petrol 957 Cayenne... I think you're confusing 955 cayenne rear lights with the 957 cayenne rear lights. One of the updates from the 955 was both the front and rear lights. All 957 Cayennes (2007 - 2010) have as standard two strips of LEDs across the top of the rear light (see photo)

Porsche has updated that bulb carrier assembly and the updated part would depend on your original part number (for each side). They are about $60 US each.

If several LEDs have died in your LED strip, it means that the LEDs in those places have burned out. It's unlikely that you'll be able to replace them with others in that strip. I think the best solution in this situation is to completely replace the LED strip in your taillight. Then you won't constantly see dark spots appearing there. Of course, not many people take a close look at it. But it's still best to keep your taillights as bright as possible in foggy weather. I, too, had a few of the factory LEDs in my headlights burn out. I bought an LED strip at vont.com and replaced them using a guide from some blogger's video. Everything works great now.
