I don't suppose you would know the corresponding part number for a Touareg ?

Can you tell me if the part number is the same for a 2006 (955) and a 2007 (957), both Turbo's for front and rear differentials.

Thanks and sorry to be a pain 🙂

There are multiple part numbers for MY2006 and My2007 depending on the final drive ratio - and in some cases the serial number.

What are you trying to do replace and existing LSD or add one?

Hi Loren

Originally I wanted to find a factory locking rear differential and swap it for my non-locking one. I now understand that the sub frame may be different and that they may not be interchangeable so I am going down another rabbit hole.

This plan, my last plan, #716 is to make my own locking differentials from a factory open differential just like the one in my car now, so that when finished I can just swap the complete assemblies over (front and back). I plan to buy these from a wrecking yard. I would use an aftermarket locker like a TJM air locker and manufacture my own side gears and modify the diff centre casing to match the Porsche parts.

My problem in all of this is knowing which diff assemblies to buy in the knowledge that they will fit when it comes time to swap them out later. These don't come up often in Australia, but right now there is a front and rear differential from a 955 turbo available, if it fits I need to grab it or it may be a year or more to find another. If not I'd like to know what will fit.

Thanks

Dave

I can swap out the gears. I am only concerned if they are otherwise the same fit, spline and strength.
