Why not replace your pads and rotors yourself? We are going to have another Work on Cars Day soon - and we will have folks there to help you. You can sign up here (just start a new post).

For your radio try 3008

Hi Loren,

Both of the number are not working, "WAIT" show up again.

Please advise.

I'm looking forward to cars day, but I need to get the parts first.

Do you have any suggestion where I can get the parts instead of dealer?

Thank you!

Please read this whole thread - "Wait" is covered as well as "what if my code does not work...".

Sunset Porsche (link at the top of the page - Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) sell Porsche parts at dealer cost plus 15%. I doubt you can find original parts cheaper anywhere else.

Thanks for the tip, Loren.

I call porsche dealer and they ask the VIN number and give the code right away.

Loren,

I think you are a real gentleman to answer all these lost radio code questions. I've never seen so many lost codes in my life...doesn't anyone keep factory documentation in their owner's manual wallet?

I have the original code card and original radio for my 1997 Boxster. The code works. The radio works.

But can someone look up the radio serial number....

I was trying to avoid this, but now I think I need the same assistance. Gettiing ready to upgrade to Litronics, will have to pull the battery cable and of course never got the dealer to provide me with the code for the stereo

Thanks in advance.

Again, here is my code card and the serial number is V 5005967. When I push the buttons on the radio it displays the same serial number.

The card has the code as 1217. That code works as it is the one I have been using for 8 years.

But the hit-or-miss decoder says 1115 is the code based on the V 5005967 serial number.

Sorry! I accidently posted on another topic already.

HELP!!

I bought a used car, and am trying to add the optional rear speakers. Instructions tell me I have to disconnect Battery before running wiring so I don't set off airbags. After looking around, I see I need a radio code. I have no manual, and have looked under hood. Nothing is written on my sticker.

Becker cdr 220

BE 4462

serial # y5053002

Thank you for any help you can give,

Richard Griffin

Thank you Loren! I just found this website. So far I am very pleased with what I find!!

I simply phoned Porsche with my VIN and they gave it to me.

It helped that I've been servicing with them for the past 5 years but I reckon I'm now getting some of my money back...

I bought a used 1999 Boxster recently; the radio previously worked & it has a Radio Code Card ..... but in clearing a CEL code [that another story .... ], I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes. Now it won't take the code..........

the card has >>>

Becker CDR 220

BE 4462

serial # Y5016498

says code is "1270" ............ anything I need to know why this might not now work?

I'll try the serial number search method I've read about in other links to make sure this is the right card for the currently installed radio............

Thank you for any help you can give,

Dux
