I'm ready to drive my 986 into the lake.

O.K., I got the code from 'Loren': THANK YOU!

But now, for some reason I have the bloody "WAIT" message appearing where the code screen use to be???

How do I get back to the code screen?

Thank you!

You need to read the Lost Radio Code FAQ...

CDR-220

BE4462

25017716

Thank you.

The radio code you gave me did not work (0807).  Maybe I got the serial # wrong; it is very difficult to read my display.  The display is beginning to deteriorate. Can we try this:

serial # 25817716

Thank you.

0807 should work (proving you used the procedure in the Lost Radio Code FAQ.

I did; I did exactly what the FAQs directed.

The only thing I can think is that I gave you the wrong serial # the first time.

Is 0807 correct for both 25017716 and 25817716?

Thank you.

Yes, so if that does not work then chances are your radio was repaired by a 3rd party repair service (not Becker).

In that case, sorry, I can not help you.

O.K., thanks for the info.  I'll see what I can do from here.  Thanks again.

Hi, I have a 996 and had my battery replaced.  The radio now asks for a code.

It is a CDR32, SN Y5025009.  Also shows CDP 2081.

Appreciate any help.  Best,
