With the help of CDR 210 manual download and reading several threads and forums,

I was able to following the instructions and read the following codes:

R2896

V5010579

The last message returned was END which has not been documented that I have found.

I tried entering the above codes per instructions:

2896 - display goes to blinking 2

5010 - display goes to blinking 5

0579 - display goes to blinking 0

After several tries the display goes to WAIT

and eventually it will let me try again.

I found another thread that appeared like one of the above codes has to used against a master code list.

Any ideas on why the above codes did not work?

I found a place to order the removal tool to pull the radio and look for more info if that is next steps.

I found a thread on another forum that indicated the Signal Seek button (#7) is used to save the code but it did work for me.

Wow!  737 pages of lost radio codes.  Sir, you are a trooper.  Bought my first Porsche recently, a 1999 Boxster, but the radio code wasn't available.  It's a CDR-220 type 4462 with a serial number of X502 1627.  Many thanks if you are able to help.

Hello,

I have just come back to the USA after 9 years overseas (Navy guy).  My 1999 Boxster with the CDR 220 deck in it was in Government storage during that time and on retrieval last week I'm getting the "Wait" followed by Code ****.  My Serial # is W5012297.  Any help would be amazing!

Thank you!

Edit: added the other 2 numbers it displays when cycling past the serial #
