You really did not need to post this three times.

From the site Guidelines/Rules that you agreed to when you registered here: "

  • Please post your messages in one forum only. Crossposting, double posting, triple posting, etc. are all a waste of time and valuable resources. If you post the same message in multiple times or in multiple forums, we will delete the ones we feel are inappropriate."

I have a 1999 Boxter

Radio:

CDR 220

Becker 1

Type 4462

Serial W5008146

Any ideas about the correct code to reset the radio?  My battery died, and the code I was given by the dealer based on the VIN is not the right code--probably a different radio was installed by the previous owner.

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Thank you for that immediate reply.  I had tried two codes last night and ended up getting the WAIT message.  Just now turned it on again and the WAIT message is still there after sitting overnight.  I disconnected the battery for a few minutes to see if that would reset it, but upon reconnecting the WAIT message is still there.  So now I have disconnected the battery and will wait an hour to check again, unless anyone has any other suggestions.  Many thanks, Paul
