Hi. I'm in a similar boat. I had to replace my

6-spd. transmission, and am now locked out of my radio

and need the code, which I lack.

'99 996 310 Carrerra Cab.

Radio Model CR-220

Becker

Serial No. CDC-3 W1025884

Any ideas?

Hi. Check that. In just going the actual radio

itself and holding down the TP button, I have the following

new data, which doesn't match the Becker id card that

came w/ the car. Odd.

Anyway, here it is:

Model CR 220

Type 4362

Serial No. W5002795

Its a 1999 Carrerra Cab.

Thanks.

Not odd - many radios were replaced for 'peeling buttons' early on.

Mine was the same - sometimes they forgot to give the customer the new card and sometimes the owner lost it.

Try 2637

or 2635

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.

I just tried them both, and unfortunately, neither one worked. I also

tried 2633, and it didn't work either.

So, since I tried 3 to no avail, I'm into the

1-hr. 'WAIT' period.

Any other suggestions?

BTW, my buttons do "peel", and have for quite some time.

The best way to get the serial number is the electronic readout - as described in the FAQ.

thank you -- but it didn't seem to work. I just need to type the 4 digits in -- and it will auto start nothing after

that right? It just jumps back to the first digit blinking.

Used codes

8867

8865

tried

8869

8863

Model CR-210

WS0 12008

R3297

I have checked the S/N several times -- I have not looked at it physically by pulling the radio

thoughts?

mike

210 == the one with the cassette

R3297

WS0 12008

thanks,

The serial number that is displayed using the process in the FAQ is the correct serial number.

As the FAQ says - try one number difference.

Ok tried it again -- the S/N is definitely WS0 - 12008

Does the Radio have to talk to the DME through the body harness to qualify the code?

The reason I ask is that this car had its engine replaced (due to an IMS failure)

and is a 99 car with a 97 engine (and a 97 Engine Wiring Harness).

I had to rewire the engine wire harness to connect the Tank Pressure Sensor to the DME since

the 97 had a different pin out.

Could I be dealing with a similar issue?

thanks,

Mike

No the radio does not talk to the DME on pre-MOST cars (MY2003).

Sorry, in a small percentage of cases my code finder does not work. You can try to get a dealer to get it for you free or pay Becker for the correct code.

We;; don't I feel stupid -- I thought as soon as you entered the code it would work.

turns out you have to hit tuner up to "enter" the code

However Loren -- your code did not work,

but another member's code did.

thanks to all.
