Greetings! I seem to have the same issue- my battery went dead and I lost my radio. I followed your instructions to find these numbers- thank you SOOOO much!

'97 boxster

5-speed

radio style CR 210

model R1996

serial #Y5001844

Thank you again much for your help.... I miss having tunes!

Aloha...

Thanks Loren. Unfortunately the numbers aren't working. I got the "code" sign, pressed the number in, then pressed the "up" arrow... and nothing..... just the "code" sign again. Any other words of wisdom?

I appreciate your help so much. It's amazing how many people you've saved from car-silence!!! =)

I am a goof ball. If it says wait does that mean I entered the right code?

5753 and 5751 did not work. Tried 5755 and 5759 no dice.

Called several dealers and they all said either the magic number system was down or that Porsche was no longer allowing this to be accessed directly by the dealer. One dealer wanted me to come in for an appointment so that they could email Porsche and wait for a response and test it out.

then it occured to dopey me to call the dealer who originally sold the car (in service records).

Gave them the VIN# and they pulled the file. They said the code number is 0434.

I tried the codes you sent (2522 or 2520), the didn't work. So I tried as you suggested, going up and down from the numbers by two digits. After three hours, no dice. I read more posts from the past and read that some people tried single digit moves and were successful. I tried 2523 and BINGO !!!!!!!

I am enjoying music in my Boxster. Thanks again for the code and reading past posts does give a lot of insight. This is a very informed forum and I am learning a great deal about my car.

I feel like such a rube. Disconnected battery diagnosing CEL and MAF issues. Lost radio code. Thought I had remembered it. :>(

Thinking it is in the area of 7271...been trying alot of combos with no success.

What is you spin on the possible radio code possibilities?

Thanks in advance...lesson learned in writing things down.
