I wanted to share with you my finding about my new 992.

I just got it a couple of days ago and was annoyed by vibration I had while driving.

I took it to the specialist for an " equilibrage" im not sure what the word is in English, but its when you put the little weights on the rims so that the weight is evenly distributed.

The specialist looked at it and showed me that the rim actually has flat spots on it and the tyres have flat spots too.

He also checked the pressure in the tyre that was really low, like 1,2 bar in the front and 2.4 in the back.

The techie told me that its possible the flat occurred because the tyres were really under inflated.

anyway, im I being cheap when Im thinking of repairing the rims? or its way too dangerous and they should be replaced?

thanks for your feedback.

It is called balancing.

If you have been running the car with the tires at 17.4 PSIG (1.2 bar) and 34 PSIG (2.4 bar), I would wager that the front tire flat spots are permanent from the tire breaking up internally from severely low pressure running and overheating.  You would have to have the rims checked by a professional rim restoration firm, but they can probably be repaired.

Hi,

Quick feedback, I found a nice guy with the tools to fix the rims, they are now straight. (I mean nice and round 😂)

Its pretty amazing, he did it pretty fast and the car now doesn't vibrate anymore. I confirmed the issue by putting the tyre on the tyre balancer and when you see the inside of the tyre, it was clearly not a perfect round. its pretty cool to see yet pretty scarry…)

Last thing I need to do is change the tires. (it hurts a bit because the tires have a lot of thread depth but they didn't wear correctly, in French we say that the tyre is wearing in "escalier" I believe its cupper wear in English.)

Anyway, I wanted to share my experience.

My last trouble I need to fix is my D and 4th gear that blink every now and then... ( I hope im only missing ATF oil and not something more expensive... ill have that answered on Friday hopefully...)
