Hi All-   I was tracking down some engine noise and ran my car for a few minutes with the airbox out and MAF disconnected. When I did this the PSM/ABS lights came on with the CEL.  I didn't think much of it, repaired the pulley that was making noise and put it back together.  I took out after the repairs and now my car is only boosting to 0.7 bar instead of the normal 1.0 bar with my tune. Got back from the drive and disconnected the negative for an hour let it sit figuring it would clear any code.  While the car was sitting I checked for loose hoses and fittings but all looked well.  Took it out for another drive after reconnecting the battery and alowing the car to sit for 5 additional minutes with the key in the ACC position. Still no luck.  Car drives and idles fine just down on boost.  It's not driving in complete limp mode like it does after a major issue.  Any thoughts on what can be going on?  Is there any way to delete any soft codes without a Durametric?  Trying to avoid paying the local indy $100s of dollars to diagnose if it's a simple issue.  Not many choices where I live.  Cheers.

Where to begin...………….you took the intake system apart while doing some other fixes, and now the car is down on boost.  First step:  Go back to what you touched last.  Something is not tight and is leaking off boost.  Second step:  NEVER disconnect the battery to clear codes without reading and noting them first.  The car was trying to tell you something, and you erased it.  Not a good move, as you lost all that information.

 

Look over everything you disconnected, make sure all the seal areas are clean and properly seated, you missed something.  While there are systems that can read and clear many codes on a Porsche, only a Porsche specific system like the Durametric can read everything and tell you what is going on.  It is a worthwhile investment.

Thanks.  Only thing I took off was the air box, the belt, and the tensioner pulley. That's I have uninstalled and reinstalled the airbox and no luck. The only code i would've erased would be related to the one minute I was running without a maf.  Does the ecu truly reset with the battery disconnected?

Yes, it loses everything.

But if the fault is still there, the codes will come back.  As JFP suggests, without the codes it's just a guessing game.  Lots of reasons to lose boost.  Most often this is a vacuum leak somewhere, waste gate issue, MAF, etc.

Well the code isn't an option at the moment.  I was hoping there was an easy fix since I didn't touch much during the pulley replacement. Under the cover and away she goes early this year.
