Hello,

Since I have basically given up all hope in finding a 99 Speedo for my car I am ready to take on rebuilding one myself.

Does anybody have a diagram showing me what all the pins are for a 1999 C2 Cabriolet 6SPD and Auto.

I have a 1999 TIP Speedo which I am going to do surgery on. It has gotta work.

Any thoughts Loren? Will a Tip Speedo work on a 6spd. I just need it in KPH, that is all, I dont care if the stupid auto bar is on the gauge.

Help!

TIA.

There was a Boxster owner with a manual transmission who wanted a 996 cluster so he could have the 2 additional gauges. He put in a 996 cluster that came from a tip car. It worked. The only thing is the gear indicators did not work of course.

Cannot see any reason why it would be different with a 996.

I've used Palo Alto SpeedO for a number of gages and dash clocks over the years and they are absolutely the best!!

It's kind of amazing that they can really bring a dead gage back to 'life' like they do and their finishing is perfect.

Palo Alto is about 20 minutes away from me. I contacted them about 3 years ago and they could not get parts to fix a VDO electronic cluster. I also contacted Hollywood and another speedometer shop in Southern California and got the same answer. No parts.

I hope this has changed because I have a 996 cluster with a bad LCD display I bought off ebay to put on my Boxster 3 years ago that is still sitting in a box.
