Hi.

I just got my new Durametric cable (pro version). My main goal was to enable DRL, and, of course, I could play with some other coding later. Diagnostic was not so important, for I have an Icarsoft Por II scantool.

I didn´t wanted to use the light switch hack to enable DRL, just because it enables both front position and rear position lights, and modern DRL by definition is only front position lights (I know, too much of an investment and hassle for a so small need). It´s just that I´m a little obsessed with doing things the best possible way (My engine has been heavily modified and meets "S" performance, which makes me happier than just buying an "S").

It was very easy to enable DRLs (The cable does it work). The problem is that it seemed that DRL in early porsches (mine is a 2008 year 987.1), meant both front and rear position lights, PLUS low beams... There is not (AFAIK) a setting (coding) to select what you want to be lit.

So ,for now, I´m some $ 800 poorer, but again at the starting point.

Any hints? Anyone knows how to code only front position lights as DRL?

It´s only that I just don´t want to run all day long with all the lights on.

Thanks.

To my knowledge, the Durametric system has never been able to code DRL on a 987 vehicle to do what you want.
