My temp gauge has been slowly creeping temps. I have a 2000 S with about 3,500 miles. When new to me (Nov '03) temps stabilized a fraction of an inch past 180 deg. mark (about 185 deg.) Last year the temp was closer to 200 deg. Now it is showing 220-230 deg. Coolant level appears to be fine. There is no loss of coolant onto my garage floor. All 3 front vents appear to be clear of debris. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have a look at the coolant. See if it is discolored/contaminated with oil. Have you ever changed the oil? If not change it and check to see if it is contaminated with coolant. Under normal every day driving, under moderate temperature conditions (under 90 degrees), the temp should never be over 215 (the tick mark between 180 and 250. Hopefully it is just clogged radiators. Otherwise it might be the start of block or head gasket leak. :(

Car had low milage when I bought it (912 miles Nov '03). Dealer changed oil in Nov '03 before winter storage. I changed the oil in Nov '04 before winter storage (nothing had appeared odd about the oil). I have driven the car less then 500 miles since removing from storage a couple of months ago. I will check the coolant for color and contamination of oil.
