My heater is stuck on I'd like to know is there a way to adjust it manually the electric dial for the temperature in my 85944 doesn't seem to you do anything when his turn back to cold Thank you in advance for any of your help I'm a new member and I've just got this car trying to figure out a few little things

Look up from the left hand footwell and you will see 2 arms on the side of the heater box make sure the metal clip is present and holding a rod with a spring in place. Check your vacuum lines from the heater valve in the engine compartment for cracks. It goes from a check valve by the brake booster along the fire wall to a “Y” through the firewall and the other end to the heater valve. Check the vacuum line at the canister by the battery not uncommon for it to be broken. Check that the heater valve in the engine compartment doesn’t have a ruptured diaphragm, pull vac on it with a hand operated vac pump. If it’s good it will hold vac, bad it’ll bleed off quickly. There is also a solenoid on the heater box that controls the vacuum supply to the heater valve in the engine compartment. You can check the solenoid by blowing through it and applying 12 volts.

My 944 had a little plastic clip broke on the drivers side up on the heater box, and the so the door flapper switch contact was made , so the heat would would be on all the time blowing on your feet.  A $3 part, 20 years ago, IDK now
