For some time now, I realize a beeping or whistling sound immediately after turning on the ignition (not engine). I am sure, that this was not the case earlier.

The sound starts after a click (solenoid?) and lasts about 10s. I have attached a short clip ofd this sound.

Maybe somebody knows, what it is and can help?! Thanks in advance!!!

Sorry, people don't always ask about their car.

In a 2004 you have a bunch of solenoids - even more with options like sport exhaust.

While that does seem rather loud it could be the egas throttle valve setting up starting, the fuel vapor and over-pressure return on the fuel pump/lines, or the air pump readying for startup.

I don't think it is anything to worry about.

Thanks for your help!

First I thought of the sport exhaust solenoid, but it keeps beeping no matter if on or off, so I think i can exclude this.

Any idea, how to come closer to the sound? Is this definitely a solenoid?

Thanks again.

Could be the starter solenoid, or the egas solenoid, or the on engine sport exhaust solenoid, etc.

I think you need to try and listen where it is coming from while someone else turns the key.
