Need some help with a problem that popped up after I got the car back from the dealer. it came back with the airbag light on . was not on when the car went in for service. they said it was the side passengers side curtain airbag. they wanted  2300.00 to replace. so I purchased a new one installed it and light is still on. seems the real problem is an open or low voltage and resistance to airbag.

anyone else had this problem?

Fault code 1589

Head airbag ignition circuit, passenger side

Possible cause of fault:
- Upper limit exceeded (based on resistance of head airbag on passenger side and wires between airbag trigger unit and head airbag on passenger side)
- Lower limit not reached (based on resistance of head airbag on passenger side and wiring between airbag trigger unit and head airbag on passenger side)
- Short circuit to positive

- Short circuit to ground
- Head airbag on passenger side faulty
