I have a 2000 base Boxster.  I went to close the top and I heard a loud pop and now my top will not open.  The clam shell stays down.  Any direction would be helpful.  Thank you.

You likely need to replace one of your push rod ball joints. They wear out with age, or broke due to some sort of tension. Replace with plastic - not metal - part. Plastic is designed to break if undue tension is applied thereby saving you from destroying the top or motor. There is a seller from MN, l believe, on eBay. Get two and you’ll have a spare.

Thank you for the feedback.  Right now I have managed to pop off the arms with the ball sockets and I can manually open and close the top.  I did not notice anything broken.
