Hi all.

I have an 01 996 C4. I am in the process of adding the CD changer in the trunk. I have the correct bracket and harness. The hardware mounts really simply as the body is predrilled and the carpet is pre-cut. Where I have a concern is in running the harness. Through the outer wall into the battery compartment on the right side is easy. Now where? Where do I go through into the cabin? Is there a Tech Data Sheet for this?

Appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,

Lang G

Sorry, there were no TSBs for the CDC-3 CD Changer.

I installed my own and it's pretty simple.

The cable comes through the firewall behind the battery. There is a rubber plug that can be cut (a slot) for the wires and they come out above the accelerator pedal near the center console. Just be sure and use cable ties to keep the wires from dropping down. Then it just plugs into the back of the radio.

Thank you gentlemen. I was kind of planning to replace the battery this winter anyway. Will the Durametric system turn on the CD changer? Thinking I may need to add one to my tool box.

You do not need Durametric to turn on the CDC-3 (you do for the MOST CDC-4).

The radio will recognize it once it is plugged-in and the radio is turned on.
