CPS part Number

Can anyone please help with the part number for the CPS for my 2003 996 carerra auto.

Is this the part that would make the car stop running?

had a few occasions over the last 12 months where the car would almost cut out/or cut out then misfire real bad until I managed to rev through it. the last few times it happened a message came up that said oil pressure to low. I had it full serviced ,and it ran fine for about a week , then same message appeared all i had to do was turn car off for two minutes then restart it misfired for a bit then revved through it. i left it ticking over for about an 40 mins (had a small accident) i could hear the misfire sound and this time it cut out, i went back to try and start it after maybe 10 mins and now it cranks but won' start. i've put fuel in still no joy

Sorry Loren is that the right part number as mines a 996, and that part number is 986?

Yes, it is.

986 and 996 use many of the same parts.

Sorry whats the difference between a pulse sensor and a crank shaft sensor?

does that sound like the right diagnosis for the symptoms i described no faults showing on snap on computer?
