Hi all,

My new-to-me C4 with 40k miles has a small leak. I changed the gear oil yesterday with 3L mobilube PTX and I noticed that there was some oil buildup at the manual transmission mount bracket. I figured it was just the gear oil that I was pumping... but I was suspicious.

I checked my garage floor again today and sure enough, there's a small (5-10 cc) puddle of oil on the floor. It smells vaguely like the transmission oil, but I'm not certain. Could be engine oil, could be brake/clutch fluid. I jacked up the car and took a look, and there was a droplet again on the manual transmission mount bracket, and further investigation revealed a wet area on the shaft above the transmission mount. I'm not entirely sure that this is where the leak is occurring. I took some bad photos (camera phone + jacked up car does not make for pretty pictures) and a short video. Can anyone help me diagnose? This is my dd... so I would like to get this diagnosed.

Also, the transmission mount inserts were totally disintegrated. Seems like they were seeped in oil, and the undertrays also showed evidence of leakage. Shockingly (or not), none of this was mentioned on the PPI about 1.5 months ago... I ordered some replacements.
