IMS Recall

Can anyone tell me about the IMS recall for the 996 model 911?, Ie:  when did the recall start? what did Porsche do for its customers (initial buyers, not buyers buying as used)?

To my knowledge, there has never been an IMS recall on any model.  Porsche was hit with a class action over the IMS, but that did not result in a recall.

Class action settlement, but you are 4 years out of time.

Right.  And the settlement only included reimbursement for failed engines.  Those of us who had done a prophylactic LNE retrofit for peace of mind and then attempted to join the class were ".... out of luck."

That said, referencing an earlier post on the IMS, it is a definite must to do the LNE.  Well worth the cost, imho.
