After hard rain storm my alarm sounded and would not shut off. My reverse lights would also would not turn off and the rear spoiler would not go down.Had to disconnect the battery.  Any suggestions?

I had somthing similar happen to a 2006 Boxster my family use to have.  We live around a lot of trees, and the leaves clogged the drain holes on the body.  Twice during heavy rain, water leaked inside the car and shorted out the cars body control unit.  As a result, the convertable top was trying to open, the windows rolled down slightly for the convertible top to move... make the situation worse, the car horn was beeping intermittently, and some of the body lights were turned on.

 

The first time this happened, the dealer dried out the car and vacuumed out the drain hole.  It happened a month or so later because the drain holes were still clogged, and the dealer ended up replacing the body control unit.

 

We also have a 996 Turbo, and the dealer warned us about the drain passages being clogged on this car as well... although this never happened to is on this car.  We are more careful about leaves accumulating on our cars.

 

My suggestion is to look for water in the car or in the trunk.  The body control unit might be under the driver seat but in am not sure.  Dry out the car thoroughly, and clean all water drains on the body.  You might want to remove the plastic covers in the trunk area and around the windshield, to access any leaves or dirt.
